Carrie e-mailed me on March 19, 2018 to inquire about me possibly photographing her wedding at Waldenwoods Resort & Conference center on December 28, 2018. I responded almost immediately and told her that I was open. I didn’t hear back from her until July.
She found me via google when she searched for Michigan wedding photographers.
She was looking for Fall-themed engagement shoot sometime in October. For her wedding she was hoping to have a white winter wedding with lots of outdoor shots before and after the ceremony with snow as backdrop. As luck would have it, the temp rose to as high as 50 and there was no snow in sight. However, the amazing lake view sunset of Waldenwoods made up for the lack of what she was hoping for.
The day felt like Fall.
Carrie was very laid back. She didn’t care that lack of snow threatened to muddy her dress. She and her bridesmaids walked around the lake to take advantage of the sunlight that was slowly setting. We still had to do the first-look before darkness crept in.
It was hard to read Ben’s expression when he was waiting to see Carrie in her wedding dress. I could only assumed that he was excited and understandably nervous. However, when he saw Carrie, he was all smile.
The first look was the highlight of the day. The rest of the night was a blur with vows, three first dances and a lot of fun! Food was good too.
